Every year, BOMA Idaho puts on the biggest commercial real estate event in the state. This year, you can take in every expert panel and market update from the comfort of your own couch — and for free.
As a ticket sponsor for the 24th Annual BOMA Idaho Commercial Real Estate Symposium, we’re proud to help attendees from around the state enjoy this event for free. Making that change was the right thing to do, says Jana Knoll, BOMA Idaho Association Executive.
“Fidelity stepped up and said, ‘Where can we make the most impact?’” Jana says. “Tickets were one of our major budget lines in the past, but our sponsors and members came through. They refused to let the pandemic get in the way, and now we’re able to offer this symposium to even more people. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Networking and deals have always been a thrilling part of BOMA Idaho’s annual event, Jana says, but current limitations have offered unexpected opportunities. “We were able to buckle down and take a close look at the information we’re providing,” Jana says. “What do people want to hear about?”
The result is an event that focuses squarely on the future. You can expect expert panels on the state of commercial real estate and the economic impact of COVID, an urban renewal update, information about energy efficiency, a BOMA International roundtable discussion, and a virtual networking opportunity. Plus, all of the panels and presentations will be available online almost immediately. (Don’t forget to use #bomaidsympo21 when posting to social.)
“We’re able to offer so much more information than we usually would,” Jana says. “We have a much broader audience, including people who have never attended in person before, and because the event is virtual we’re able to offer graphics and visual interest that we otherwise couldn’t. You can expect to see a lot of city and political representatives, and we’re excited about both the volume of information we can share and the fact that people will be able to easily reshare it once the conference is over.”
Although the symposium itself will be virtual, attendees will still get a chance for socially distanced chats — and goodies — at the Symposium Kickoff Event from 2-6 p.m. Feb. 17. This outdoor event, held at locations in both Meridian (Ten Mile Crossing in front of the BVA building, 2775 W.
Navigator Drive) and Boise (Idaho AGC Building, 1649 Shoreline Drive Suite 100), will feature sponsors’ company trucks, rows of sponsor tents, and an opportunity to mingle and network safely. Drive-up pickup will also be available.
“There will be tons of swag available,” Jana says. “There are so many fun, creative things sponsors have put together this year.”
